... i thought i would update and tell all that saint augustine was magically perfect.
the day before we left, i will say one thing, it sucked. we were both snappy. i got into a huge fight w/my mom. josh had some issues back home. this all resulting in josh and i have problems of our own. nothing serious. just us being incredibly snappy w/one another [the people we shouldn't be snappy at, you know?]
saint augustine was already planned and etched in stone for saturday, but we decided to take this day as our own. we weren't going to have any interruptions from cells. parents. nothing whatsoever. we were gonna enjoy one another.
.. and we did.
we ended up getting into st augustine around twoish, and we had mucho fun in the outlet mall they have there. we had some yummie frozen coffee milkshake type things [the brand, i cannot remember, but josh loves it. so that made his day]. we walked around the mall for about an hour, just checking out shops and possibilities for stuff.
.. once we were done there, we headed to THE downtown area of st. augustine, where everything is [from the fountain of youth to rigley's believe it or not]. we didn't end up going to either of those because they were closed, but we ended up at this amazing catholic church that we both fell in love with. the grounds were just beautiful. it was.. i don't know. magical in a sence. i fell in love w/this church, and the people there. the sweetest group of people.
i told josh that one time in our life, we were gonna live in st. agustine and we would attend that church.
.. he's not catholic, tho. he did say that converting was something he had thought about, since i was strong in my religion. i told him that once he was done talking to his family [they are lutherans], and they didn't disagree, that it would mean so much to me. but if there was any doubt that his family had at all, i wouldn't want to bring that upon any family. it's completely and totally up to him [and he even said that if he wanted to, and that he started to fall in love w/the religion, even his family had no say].
after that, we walked through downtown and browsed some of the shops. we ended up having dinner at a cute little mexican restaurant [we are all about some mexican food, huh? savannah? now st. agustine? *laughs*]. the food was amazing, but once we were done w/that, we were stuffed. we couldn't even walk around downtown. :)
.. we decided that rather than hang around st. agustine or go to the outlet center [not the mall. two different things] we would go to the Avenues mall on the way home in jax.
we ended up in hot topic, like always, trying to find green stuff for saint patty's day [found barely ANYTHING in our hunt], but josh got some stuff [and some cute socks i'm definitely stealing!!!].
.. home was next on our list since we were both still stuffed. we hung out here w/nikki for about an hour and just talked about days.
amazing.
perfection.
i couldn't have asked for a better day.
st. augustine=perfection.
today was pretty neat, tho. my mom and i knew that tomorrow we wouldn't have ANY time to celebrate st. patty's day, so we decided to have our celebration here w/all of our family and close friends. talk about fun [and lots of alcohol!]. we were definitely livin' it up irish style. :)
corn beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrotts. always yummers.
.. there was an abundance of yummie desserts.
basically, it was "eat lots of food that will make mary gain all the weight she has lost in the past five months" weekend.
.. and i only had one jack daniel's hurricane punch [actually, a half of one. i handed mine to josh and told him to drink the rest].
i'm very pleased w/my weekend. i don't know how the week will go. i have a doc appointment, which is never fun, but joe and casey will be coming in tuesday night. i'm looking forward to that. meeting casey. seeing joe.
.. should be fun! :)
well, i shall go. mom's bored. josh is sleeping [off the alcohol, you think?], and i'm considering a survey for my friends..
